15. The body’s an envelope: and so it serves to contain what it then has to develop. The development is interminable. The finite body contains the infinite, which is neither soul nor spirit, but in fact the development of the body.

15. Le corps est une enveloppe: il sert donc à contenir ce qu’il faut ensuite développer. Le développement est interminable. Le corps fini contient l’infini, qui n’est ni âme, ni esprit, mais bien le développement du corps.

15. Il corpo è un involucro: serve dunque a contenere ciò che si deve sviluppare poi. Lo sviluppo è interminabile. Il corpo finito contiene l’infinito, che non è anima, né spirito, ma proprio lo sviluppo del corpo.

13. But it’s the soul that senses. And the soul, first of all, senses the body. It senses it from all parts containing it and retaining it. If the body didn’t retain it, the whole soul would escape in gossamer words, evaporating into the sky.

13. Pourtant ce qui sent, c’est l’âme. Et l’âme sent d’abord le corps. Elle le sent de toutes parts qui la contient et la retient. S’il ne la retenait pas elle s’échapperait toute en paroles vaporeuses qui se perdraient dans le ciel.

13. Tuttavia, chi sente è l’anima. E l’anima sente anzitutto il corpo. Lo sente da tutte le parti che la contiene e la trattiene. Se non la trattenesse, essa fuggirebbe tutta in parole vaporose che si perderebbero in cielo.
